Frank Carson grew up in Parry Sound and was one of three
brothers to skate in the NHL - his older brother Bill and
younger brother Gerry. During the 1920's he played senior
hockey in
Stratford, Ontario, with the great Howie Morenz. He played for
the Montreal Maroons during the 1925-26 season when the team won
its first Stanley Cup. He would stay with the team for two more
years and even at that point when the Maroons sent him back
to minor pro, Frank would prove that his career was far from
over..
The 1930-31 season saw the return of Frank Carson to the NHL
playing for the New York
Americans. He was then traded with Hap Emms to Detroit for
Tom Filmore and Bert McInenly. The next three years with
Detroit were his best statistically. |
