On January 19th, 2012,  members of the press, public and past Inductees joined the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame in welcoming our newest Induction members.  After weeks of keeping it a secret, Dave Garagan, chair of the 2012 selection committee revealed the 1961/62 Bantam All Stars, Ronald D. Harris, Sandra Hunt and William (Bill) Peachey as our 2012 Inductees!  We look forward to celebrating the lives and achievements of these remarkable people in the months to come.  We would like to thank everyone who attended this event and hope that you will all be able to join us as we welcome the 2012 Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Inductees into our Hall.

See you May 26, 2012.

The NEW Sign

Have you seen it? Everyone in town is talking about the NEW Bobby Orr Hall of Fame and Charles. W. Stockey Centre sign! There’s been a buzz in town about the new sign, surely an eye-catching addition to Parry Sound’s best entertainment and recreational venue.

Standing at the curb of the parking lot, the 30 foot sign was constructed by SignCity of Sudbury, Ontario after the company presented the winning bid earlier this year. The large glowing logos of the BOHF and Performing Arts Centre can be seen from out on the waters of the bay, the town dock, and approaching the building from Bay Street.

An LED board will be added in the future, which will serve as advertisement space for all of the events and performances held at the establishment. We are certainly very excited about the marketing and advertising prospects brought forth by this new ‘beacon of light’ – one more way to pay homage to the Town’s hometown hero and stunning performance hall!

New Sign at Killbear Provincial Park

As you are driving towards Killbear Provincial Park this summer, watch for our new sign.

The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame has installed a new billboard sign with the aim of capturing the summer campers at Killbear Provincial Park. The new full colour 10’ by 10’ sign is located just past Fred Dubie Road about 15 kilometres down Highway 559 and features a larger-than-life size image of our sculpture of Bobby Orr’s famous goal. The sign was constructed by Andy Balicki of Balicki Signs and was installed in mid June.

About ten minutes North of Parry Sound, Killbear is one of Ontario’s busiest Provincial Parks during the summer season. The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame’s sign has been put in place to remind Bobby Orr fans of this outstanding tourist attraction honouring Bobby Orr’s career here in his hometown.

With the anticipation of a warm Summer ahead, it is hoped that a high volume of campers, travellers, and tourists from Killbear Park will make their way over to the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame!

A special thanks to Dr. Thirsk who returned on Wednesday May 5th, 2010 to give 2 presentations to local area school children. We are very thankful for Dr. Thirsk’s involvement in the Parry Sound & area Community!
